Shayia
Shayia lives on Tarris Mountain
with his grandfather. He enjoys hanging out with his best friends, Yana
and Lakota. Shayia struggles with reading the Sacred Book at times,
especially on warm summer days. Yet, he wants to make his grandfather
proud. Losing his parents so young, Shayia struggles with loneliness and
anger at times. He hopes to one day be a worthy warrior and swordsman
like his father.
Princess Leora
Princess Leora takes advantage of her position as
the daughter of the king. Her philosophy – why do for yourself when
you can make others do it for you. Princess Leora finds herself arguing
with Shayia all the time and it confuses her.
King Tolvin
King Tolvin is the ruler of Sedona. His heart is as big as his kingdom. His strength was matched by one man, Shayia’s father. He rules his kingdom by the Word of the Creator. King Tolvin’s most precious jewel is his daughter, Princess Leora.
Lady Mayah
Lady Mayah is an elderly woman gifted in wisdom and discernment. She is known for her knowledge of medicines. Though she has never had children of her own, Lady Mayah is seen as a loving mother figure to all.
Yana
Yana may
be big and strong for his age, but his heart is even bigger. When Shayia
and Lakota are headed for trouble, he comes to the rescue with his
strength and wisdom. Yana carries a staff, but rarely has to use it.
Ennus
Ennus is Shayia’s grandfather. He has witnessed many miracles and tragedies in his long life. Being a man after the Creator’s heart is his desire. He longs for Shayia to seek the same goal. There are secrets he holds, but he hopes to one day share them with Shayia.
Lakota
Lakota
is the youngest of the three friends. Lakota cannot stand or sit in one
place for long. His energy can barely be contained in his small body.
Lakota does not go anywhere without his bow and arrow. His marksmanship
is unmatched.
Master Tay
Master Tay was Shayia’s father. He was known across the land for his strength and swordsmanship skill. He sacrificed his life for his best friend, King Tolvin. He handcrafted his sword following strict instructions from the Creator. Its name – The Sword of Light.

is a fallen man who let his thirst for power corrupt his heart until he
himself became pure evil.
Jolon
Jolon uses his good looks and charm to fool others into doing what he wants. What does Jolon want? He wants power. Although not much is known about him, two things are known for sure. Jolon’s a bully and will do anything to get Shayia’s powerful sword.
Mull and Yoy
Mull and Yoy are the stink brothers – literally. In addition to never bathing, the two brothers follow Jolon around and do his dirty work.
